Christians in Iraq have faced persecution for decades. US military forces have protected Christians, but the recent exit from Afghanistan has caused concern about what may happen to religious minorities if the US also leaves Iraq. Nobel Peace Prize nominee Juliana Taimoorazy and the Iraqi Christian Relief Council work to protect Christians and called on President Joe Biden earlier this week to continue the US presence in Iraq. Founder and President of the Iraqi Christian Relief Council, Juliana Taimoorazy, joins to tell us a little bit more about her organization and what inspired her to go into this work. She explains the history of Christians in Iraq, what life is like for them now and what challenges they face. She mentions why she feels it is so important for Biden to keep US military presence in Iraq and whether there are other countries that are supportive of the Christian communities in Iraq. Taimoorazy shares what she is most concerned about when it comes to Christians in Iraq and how the faithful can best support them. She talks about what else she would like people to know.
