Outbreak Spreads to 20 Provinces in China/The upgraded measures and bizarre moves of the government

Since 2020, China has implemented the most aggressive outbreak prevention and control measures in the world. It's officially known as the "Covid zero" policy, meaning a single Covid case will result in a complete lockdown of a neighborhood or even a city.
After nearly two years of effort, has the outbreak disappeared from China? Nope. Since October, a new wave of homegrown cases has spread to more than two dozen provinces.
