Chula Vista: Transient Arrested for Arson 04082022

Firefighters and Police officers responded to a fire at the Castillejos Eye Institute. They found that a transient male had started the fire on the outside of the building and the fire went into the walls. Firefighters had to tear down the wall and insulation to chase the fire and accidentally hit a water line to the building. Firefighters were able to stop the fire, but the office is now without water and power, and there is smoke damage. No injuries were reported. The transient was questioned and arrested on arson charges.
