The average construction expense in Australia now exceeds $400,000 as the cost of building a house has jumped more than $76,000 in a year. The executive director of the New South Wales Master Builders Association, Brian Seidler said, "we're now in a position where builders are saying, 'We'd like to renegotiate contracts. If I go and do the job, I'll be coming out at a loss.'" (Broadcast June 10, 2022)
