Inexpensive pieces of kitchen equipment that bring me ✨joy✨ (part 2)

When I was a kid it became a bit of a joke to buy my Dad useless cheap kitchen equipment for Christmas. He got garlic choppers and jar openers and knife sharpeners. Basically any gimmick on an infomercial
And there’s even more crap out there these days 🥲
Spending your dollars on stuff that only works for 5 mins is not only a waste of $$ and resources, it also can also suck the joy out of cooking
Here are some more of my favourite inexpensive kitchen items that bring me ✨joy✨ each time I use them
#1 is a lemon zester - Not only are they inexpensive to buy ($14 from briscoes after a quick search), but it’s also an inexpensive and waste-preventing way to get more flavour into your food. Win win.
#2 is a convenient compost bit - emphasis on convenient. We used to just use a container but it was constantly overflowing, and now I’m way more inclined to put my food scraps where they gotta go ya know. We got this one from the warehouse but there’s heaps around!
#3 is a bamboo steamer. Cheap, cute, easy to use. can expand and buy more parts as you need them. All round excellent 10/10 - you can pick theses up from the supy or your local Asian supermarket
Nice kitchen equipment is definitely not a necessity, but having pieces that I love has made me far more inclined to cook regularly - and they do not need to be expensive!
